Zidly privacy policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026
Zidly is an Android app made by Ryhan Hussain that helps you earn time for selected apps through flashcards, Quran reading and focused work. It works offline and does not require an account.
Information that stays on your phone
Zidly stores the information needed to run its features in its private app storage:
- Your flashcards, decks, notes, imports, answers, review history and review dates.
- The apps you choose to protect and your protection settings.
- Your earned time, time used, unlock counts, borrowed time and focus sessions.
- Your Quran reading place, bookmarks, reading progress, daily goals and preferences.
Zidly does not send this information to the developer or third parties. The Android app does not have internet permission and includes no advertising, analytics or remote crash-reporting service.
App protection and accessibility access
If you choose to enable app protection, Zidly uses Android's accessibility service to identify which app is on screen and whether phone controls, such as the keyboard or notification panel, are in front. It checks app identifiers and window details such as type, focus and bounds.
This lets Zidly measure observed use of your chosen apps, show the learning gate when access is blocked, and display an optional warning when about a minute remains. Following your button taps, it can take you home or reopen the chosen app. The app may also pause media when its gate opens.
Android grants broader screen-access capability than Zidly uses. Zidly does not read messages, passwords, typed text or the contents of another app's screen. It does not send accessibility information off your phone.
Zidly explains this access before directing you to Android settings. You can decline, switch off App protection inside Zidly, or disable its accessibility service in Android settings at any time.
Installed apps and notifications
Zidly checks launchable apps to let you choose which ones to protect. It also identifies essential phone and settings apps so they remain available. The chosen list stays on your phone.
If you enable the optional focus countdown notification, Android may display it on your lock screen according to your phone's notification and privacy settings. Notification permission is optional. Zidly does not read other apps' notifications.
Importing and exporting files
You choose files to import and where to save deck exports using Android's file picker. If you choose a cloud storage provider, that provider may transfer or store the selected file under its own privacy policy. Zidly does not automatically upload files or read unrelated documents.
Exported files contain deck content, not your time balance or complete study history. Copies you export remain wherever you save them until you delete them there.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your local information is kept while you use the app unless you remove content using the available controls. To remove all locally stored app data, clear Zidly's storage in Android settings or uninstall it. This removes your saved decks, progress, settings and time balance.
Automatic Android backup and device transfer are disabled for Zidly. Export decks you want to keep before clearing storage or uninstalling. The developer cannot recover app data from a server because the app does not send it to one.
How local information is protected
Zidly uses Android's private app storage, which normally prevents other apps from opening its saved files. Your device lock, operating system and any places you choose for exported files also affect security. Keep exported files somewhere you trust.
When you contact us
If you email for support, the developer and email providers receive the address, message and attachments you send. We use that information to answer and resolve your request, keeping it only as long as needed for that purpose or any applicable record-keeping obligation. Avoid sending passwords or unnecessary personal information. You can request deletion of support correspondence through the contact address below, subject to any information that must be retained.
Changes and contact
This policy is also available inside Zidly without an internet connection. If you read the hosted web version, the hosting providers may process normal connection information, such as your IP address and browser request, to serve and protect the page. We have not added advertising or analytics to the page. Visiting the website does not send your Zidly app data to it.
This policy will be updated if Zidly's data practices change. The published policy will show its revision date.
